Hollow Signal: Operator — horror that hears your footsteps

"Hollow Signal" is horror survival in a sealed bunker. The radio station is

dead, and the only way to reach the surface is to fix the antenna from three

scattered parts and walk to the radio room. A Thing stalks the corridors, and

the main resource of the game is not ammo — it is silence.

Why it is scary

In most horror games you fear what you see. Here you fear what you hear. The

Thing has three states: patrol, investigate and hunt. It walks to wherever a

sound came from, and once it spots you it comes straight through, breaking

closed doors in two seconds. Running is louder than walking, so fleeing often

attracts it rather than escaping it. The Noise bar in the corner is not

decoration: it is a live readout of how loudly you are giving yourself away.

What survival is made of

  • Flashlight charge. Light eats the battery. Without light, darkness builds

static — and full static ends the run just as surely as the Thing's claws.

Batteries in the halls are not a bonus, they are a necessity.

  • Doors. A closed door buys two seconds and makes a bang. An open one is

silent but lets everything through. It is a constant trade: time or silence.

  • Lockers. Cover: the Thing cannot see you inside, and static ebbs a

little. But you cannot see the layout from a locker either.

  • Geometry. The bunker is a corridor grid; neighbouring rooms connect by

doors, and the doors decide whether you can loop around the Thing.

How to win

Three antenna parts lie in the far half of the bunker; the radio room is in the

bottom right. Order does not matter, but the way back passes patrols. With all

three parts collected, an arrow at the screen edge leads to the radio room;

when you arrive, the signal goes out and your score — with a speed bonus —

lands on the leaderboard.

Tips

Do not run without a need. Keep a battery for the way back. And remember: the

sound of a closing door is both a shield and an invitation.
