What kind of game is it

Boulder Dash is a cave-digging puzzle. You control a miner who tunnels through dirt, collects diamonds and reaches the exit. The main threat is boulders: they fall straight down, and getting crushed ends the run. The board of dirt, rocks and gems is laid out so that every move matters.

Controls

Controls: arrow keys or WASD to move and dig. You can dig in any of the four directions when the tile is passable. Sound and pause are on the game page. The level best score is stored in your browser.

A few tips to finish

Never stand under a hanging boulder — wait until it drops and settles. A diamond squeezed against a boulder spawns an enemy, so keep your distance. Scan the level top to bottom, plan a route to the exit, then act. And watch the timer: when it runs low, the cave starts collapsing on its own.
