Umbra Post Arcade: a close look, tips and whether it is worth your time
If you enjoy short sessions that are hard to walk away from, give this one a look. Below is everything you need before the first launch: the gist, the controls and some working techniques.

What this game is
Umbra Post is a night-delivery arcade with inverted controls. The postman's shadow is the only courier who can slip through dark alleys, and it runs backwards: pressing right moves it left.
How to play, in short
The city is laid out in blocks with street lamps. Standing in a lamplight burns the shadow and shakes loose part of its cargo, so the route has to hug the dark. Letters lie around the streets, collect them and drop them into windows that are still lit.
Every night brings more light and an earlier dawn. Windows you failed to serve go dark and score nothing.
Controls
Controls:
- Arrows or drag on the screen to steer — remember the shadow is inverted
- Space or Enter to start
- Score: per delivered letter plus the time left before dawn
A few final tips
- Check out the demo mode on the game page — the AI shows how it is played, and repeating it yourself gets much easier.
- Play in short sessions: the best results come with a warmed-up head.
