Parapet: a close look, tips and whether it is worth your time
If you enjoy short sessions that are hard to walk away from, give this one a look. Below is everything you need before the first launch: the gist, the controls and some working techniques.

What this game is
Parapet is a first-person parkour run across the rooftops of a sleeping brutalist city at dusk. Six roofs, one continuous line, and a timer that starts the moment you take your first step. No loading screens, no pre-made models: the whole city — concrete blocks, parapets, stairwells and antennae — is generated in code, just like the sound of your footsteps, jumps and landings.
How to play, in short
Run, jump, slide under low gaps, stick to a wall and mantle over the edge. Movement physics are the heart of the game: momentum, inertia and landing precision decide whether you flow with the line or tumble off the roof. Checkpoints with splits are placed along the route — the game compares your time on each section against your best run and shows where you gain and where you bleed fractions of a second.
Controls
WASD to move, mouse to look, Space to jump, Ctrl or C to slide, R to restart, M to mute. Wall-running and mantling trigger automatically as long as you press into a surface at speed. The goal is to clear the whole line from start to finish arch as cleanly and quickly as you can; your best time saves automatically.
A few final tips
- Check out the demo mode on the game page — the AI shows how it is played, and repeating it yourself gets much easier.
- Play in short sessions: the best results come with a warmed-up head.
