Kenanga Valley — a first-days guide to farm life
Kenanga Valley
You inherit a farm in an Indonesian valley: a house, a barn, a well and a field of weeds. Your grandpa was the best farmer around — now it is your turn. That is how Kenanga Valley begins, a calm village-life sim where nobody rushes you anywhere.

Day one: what to do
In the morning you have 15 turnip seeds, a hoe, an axe, a pickaxe, a sickle and a can with 40 units of water. The order:
1. Till plots with the hoe (tool 1) — you can only dig on fenced beds.
2. Plant turnips (tool 6) — they are spring crops and ripen in four days.
3. Water (tool 5) — refill the can at the well or it runs out mid-field.
4. Do not spend all energy — fainting from exhaustion wakes you at half strength.
In the evening — sleep in front of the house. A game day runs 06:00 to 02:00 at night.
Where to go in the first days
- Mrs Sari's shop (9:00–17:00) — seasonal seeds. She will also tell you what to plant.
- The plaza notice board — opening hours and villager errands.
- Jaka's smithy — bring ore and he sharpens your tools.
- The pier — Bayu usually stands there: stand next to him with a rod and wait for a bite.
Selling goes through the sell box: drop the harvest in — money arrives next morning.
Who to befriend
There are nine villagers, each with character and a schedule. Elder Harun sits in the hall mornings and evenings, Granny Wulan has fished the bay for fifty years, and Doctor Ratna fixes every farmer's back. Gift them favorites (coffee and pumpkin, say) — friendship unlocks new lines, and the village starts feeling alive.
Why it works
There is no losing here — only your pace. Want it — run the farm like a factory: count ripening days, plant by season, save for upgrades. Want it — wander the forest for mushrooms, fish on the pier till evening and chat with villagers. A season lasts 28 days, and each changes available crops, so routine never gets boring.
