GridVille — become the mayor of a city that lives

GridVille

You get $10,000, an empty field and the title of mayor. The rest is your decisions: where the homes go, where the factories go, where to run the wires and how to connect it all with roads. GridVille is a genuine isometric 3D city sim, and it does not play along.

The three pillars

A city stands on three systems, and each can break the others:

  • Zones. Residential, commercial, industrial — citizens move in, businesses open, but only where it makes sense: near roads and with power.
  • Power. A power plant alone gives nothing — current must be carried by lines to every block. A district without light withers before your eyes.
  • Roads. Connectivity decides: a cut-off block is a dead block, even with perfect power supply.

This trio is what makes a match interesting: money is always limited, and every wire is a choice between a new block and saving an old one.

Mayor tasks

Beyond free building there is a task system: complete city errands — earn XP, level up and unlock new building types. Simple houses first, then everything more complex and more profitable. It gives the match direction: not just "build pretty" but "build what the city needs now".

About happiness

The city has a happiness index — a summary of how good residents feel. It drops from darkness, traffic and decay — and drags income with it. Watching it matters more than it seems: a rich but unhappy city stagnates.

Who will enjoy it

Players who love SimCity for planning, not disasters: there are no godzillas here, only you, the budget and the map. A match is an evening of calm building where every decision shows in ten minutes: a wire stretches out — and the block comes alive. Saving is a code you take with you and continue anywhere.
